James Cole's impressive journey spans over 50 years, beginning at just ten years old when he first dabbled in construction work. His professional career took off in 1967 with Taylor and Gaskin, Inc. Through hard work and a commitment to education, he ascended through various roles to become the executive vice president and part-owner at A J Etkin Construction Co. Later, he took on the pivotal role of president at L.S. Brinker Construction Management, where he mentored the next generation of builders, demonstrating that mentorship is as crucial as any technical skill.

Cole emphasizes, "Mentoring allowed me to share my lessons and support L.S. Brinker's growth while preserving its legacy." Beyond his professional commitments, he extensively volunteers with organizations, asserting that the importance of giving back extends well beyond the construction site.

John and Mary Henry transformed John Henry Excavating, Inc. into a cornerstone of northern Michigan's civil construction. John, with a civil engineering degree from Northern Michigan University, launched the company utilizing his father's legacy in the industry. The firm has since thrived under the leadership of their son and daughter-in-law, ensuring the family's dedication to the business carries on through their grandchildren.
