Celebrating Creativity: NMU's Senior Exhibition Approaches
The Fall 2025 NMU School of Art & Design Senior Exhibition is just around the corner, and it's a celebration of youthful creativity and innovation. Set to run from December 9 to December 12, this event will showcase the exceptional work of graduating seniors from the School of Art and Design.
Meet the Talented Artists
This year's exhibition focuses on two distinct areas: graphic design and painting. Featured students include graphic design majors Grace Matthews and Devyn Clark, along with talented painters Alayna Storey, Shelby Goode, and Jaylee Pol. Each of them brings a unique perspective and personal style to their work, making for an engaging and varied showcase.
The Importance of Community Support
What makes this event particularly special is the overwhelming support from the community. Sponsored by the Friends of the DeVos Art Museum, the event will not only showcase talent but also present awards to outstanding students. The Gold Award, honoring one of the best pieces, is sponsored annually, while the NMU School of Art & Design provides Silver and Bronze awards to further recognize talent.
Closing Reception: A Night to Remember
The exhibition will culminate in a closing reception on December 12, from 7 PM to 9 PM. This will be an excellent opportunity for families, friends, and members of the community to come together, celebrate the students’ achievements, and engage in the vibrant atmosphere of the arts. During this event, the award winners will be announced at 8 PM, heightening the excitement as the evening progresses.
Why Attend?
Attending the NMU Senior Exhibition offers more than just an evening of art; it provides a chance to foster connections within the community and support local talent. Families, local businesses, and schools will find this a rewarding experience, showcasing the depth of creativity in our youth and potentially sparking inspiration for future initiatives.
