Inspiring Young Innovators at the D.I.C.E. Challenge 2025
The 2025 D.I.C.E. Challenge, hosted by Genesis: Pathways to Success, has stirred excitement among high school students by bridging creativity with entrepreneurship. This year, nine standout teams representing Lawrenceburg High School, Oldenburg Academy, and South Ripley High School came together not just to pitch ideas but to workshop the entrepreneurial spirit themselves.
Empowering Future Entrepreneurs
As the light of innovation shines from Southeastern Indiana, this annual competition emphasizes that entrepreneurship isn't limited to “million-dollar” aspirations. It’s about identifying community needs and possessing the courage to fill that gap with workable solutions. With lessons in crafting business plans and pitching, students learn the nuances navigating through the entrepreneurial landscape.
Triumphant Winners Showcase Diverse Ideas
The competition culminated with three teams taking the spotlight, demonstrating exceptional creativity and market awareness:
- 1st Place: CharLeigh Combs and her venture, CharLeigh’s Creations, a delightful home bakery that provides delicious cakes and cupcakes. CharLeigh received a $3,000 grant to boost her entrepreneurial journey.
- 2nd Place: Alahna Beinkemper and Maliyah Salter captured second place with their StressLess Box idea, designed to help individuals manage stress with calming self-care products, earning them a $2,000 award.
- 3rd Place: Mateo Rico, whose Your Magic business offers custom magic shows, took home $1,000 to cultivate his passion further.
Lori Rennekamp, the Entrepreneurial Program Coordinator, remarked on the experience: “Watching these students pitch their ideas was inspiring! They embodied creativity and courage, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset that will benefit their future careers.”
