Owner Gina Kerr stated, “Our farm has become a satellite for fresh produce in an area with few grocery options,” demonstrating the crucial role these businesses play in ensuring food availability.
The Seed Awards are specifically designed to alleviate the burdens small farms endure, thus enhancing their operational efficiency and community impact. Kerr explained, “This will help us expand our production and increase profitability.” Their new facilities will not only make shopping easier for customers but also create jobs for local youth, further knitting the fabric of community support.
